A&M Consolidated wins 7 on 7 Division I championship

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – A&M Consolidated beat Southlake Carroll 37-31 Saturday afternoon at Veterans Park and Athletic Complex to win the Division I championship at the State 7 on 7 Tournament. Tiger quarterback Gage Pahl was named the tournament MVP. This is the second year in a row the Tigers have played in the championship game. In 2018 Consol lost to College Station in the tournament title game.

The Tigers began the day with a 48-20 win over Vista Ridge. They followed that up with a 48-42 victory over Lufkin. In the quarterfinal round of championship bracket play Consol beat Manvel 41-21. The Tigers knocked off Cy Falls 41-27 in their semifinal game. After going 3-0 in pool play on Friday the Tigers finished 8-0 this weekend at the state tournament.

College Station also advanced into championship bracket play after going 3-0 in pool play on Friday. The Cougars started the day off with a 45-25 win over Temple. They lost their second game of the day to Cy Falls 40-39.
