COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men’s golf team is set to host the 13-team Aggie Invitational at its own Traditions Club (par 72/7,146 yards) on Saturday April 6 and Sunday April 7. The first two rounds will be played on Saturday, with teams teeing off at 7:30 a.m. both days. Play will wrap with Round 3 on Sunday morning.

“It’s always an exciting time of year when we get to host the Aggie Invitational. We are proud of our home course, Traditions, and appreciate the opportunity to show the course and Aggieland off to some of the best teams in the nation,” said head coach J.T. Higgins. “The field is really strong, the course is in great shape and if we can hold the weather off, it has the makings of a great event. It truly is an awesome opportunity to come out and see the future stars of the PGA Tour up close and personal. Looking forward to a great weekend.”

Six of the 13 teams playing are nationally ranked, as No. 1 Oklahoma State, which is paired with the No. 27 Aggies in Rounds 1 and 2, and No. 2 Arizona State highlight the group of competition.

Freshman Sam Bennett and sophomore Walker Lee will be in action for the Aggies after helping lead the team in its last time out at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational. Lee, along with senior Chandler Phillips, won the Aggie Invitational a season ago as A&M earned a third-place team finish.

Juniors Brandon Smith, Josh Gliege and Dan Erickson will round out the lineup for the Aggies this weekend, while senior Max Miller, sophomore Reese Ramsey and freshman Peyton Callens will compete individually.
