SAN JOSE del CABO, Mexico – The No. 19 Texas A&M men's golf team finished tied for 11th at the Cabo Collegiate at the Querencia Golf Club (par 71/6,924 yards). The Aggies shot 43-over 895 (292-299-305) in the three day tournament.
"There isn't much positive to say about the way we played this week," said head coach J.T. Higgins. "We were poor in every aspect of the game – off the tee, iron play, wedges and putting – nothing went well. No excuses, we just weren't up for the task this week. It's disappointing, but the only way we know is to put it behind us as quickly as possible and get back to work."
Freshman Sam Bennett led the Aggies individually, finishing tied for 33rd at 6-over, while junior Dan Erickson recorded a 48th-place finish, shooting 11-over in Mexico. A&M was without senior Chandler Phillips in the individual competition after he was disqualified in the second round.
The Aggies will return to action on Monday, March 11 for the two-day General Hackler Championship in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
