Aggies enter Gator Bowl battle tested and make stop Friday at Mayport Naval Station

JACKSONVILLE, Florida (KBTX) -- The Aggies eight win regular season was pretty impressive when you look at their schedule. They have faced five teams that finished the regular season in the top 20 of the College Football Playoff Rankings.

The Aggies have played #1 Alabama, #2 Clemson, and ended the regular season with a dramatic seven overtime win over 11th ranked LSU.

Texas A&M and the Wolfpack do have one common opponent in Clemson. A&M lost to the Tigers 28-26 at Kyle Field while N.C. State lost to Clemson 41-7 on the road.

Speaking of battle tested, after practice on Friday Texas A&M made a visit to the Mayport Naval Station.

They got a chance to see up close and personal the greatest military fighting force on the face of the planet that on game day they might only hear passing overhead, not to mention how important preparation is when you are getting ready to go into battle.

The Aggies will close out the 2018 season on Monday evening against North Carolina State looking to end the year on a winning note for the first time since the Liberty Bowl in 2014.
