COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The Aggie football team returned to the practice field for week three of spring drills this evening.
The team held a scrimmage Friday night, giving Jimbo Fisher a chance to evaluate his team in a game-like situation.
As a national championship winning coach, Fisher knows what kind of players he has to have to compete for a title.
As of now, he says this team isn't at that level yet.
"No where close with guys that can play championship level football," Fisher said. "We have some guys but we've got to get a lot more. Some of 'em it's just youth, some of 'em are getting put in situations they've never been in. Some guys are having to take roles they've never been in, whatever it may be. If you're the bell cow now, you're the guy out front that's all a different deal than just playing."
Texas A&M will take Tuesday off then hit the field for spring workout number nine on Wednesday.
