The Aggies (15-6) extended their winning streak to six games Wednesday night as Kayla Poynter stymied UT Arlington as she tossed her first career shutout in a 1-0 victory. The right-hander allowed just three hits and a walk while fanning one, and retired 10 of the last 11 batters she faced.

Blake-Ann Fritsch drove in the game's only run as she plated Taudrea Sinnie on a single to right. Kelbi Fortenberry, Haley Lee and Fritsch each recorded a hit, while Payton McBride led the offense with two. Fortenberry reached base twice, extending her on-base streak to 13 and hitting streak to 11.

The Aggies are led offensively by Fortenberry and McBride, who top the team with .460 and .432 batting averages, respectively. Riley Sartain leads the team in multiple offensive categories, including home runs (5), walks (11), on-base percentage (.552) and slugging percentage (.769), and is tied for the team lead with Fortenberry in total bases (40) and doubles (6).

In the circle, McBride paces the pitching staff with seven wins, which ranks sixth in the SEC and 34th nationally. Kendall Potts and Poynter have added three victories as Hannah Mayo has recorded two.

In a series that dates back to 1981, LSU holds a slight advantage over the Aggies with a 12-10 record.
