Seven Texas A&M football players were named to preseason season teams released by Phil Steele's College Football Preview.
Aggie punter Braden Mann was named first team All-SEC, first team All-American and Special Teams player of the year. Mann won the Ray Guy award last year given to the nation's top college punter.
Jashaun Corbin was named to the preseason All-SEC first team as a kick returner and a fourth team running back. Last season Corbin averaged 30.14 yards per kickoff including a 100 yard return for a touchdown against Arkansas. As a running back last year Corbin ran 346 yards and a touchdown.
Defensive lineman Justin Madubuike was named to the second team. In 2018 he had 40 tackles, 10.5 for loss and 5.5 sacks.
Wide receiver Quartney Davis was a third team selection. In 2018 he was second on the team with 45 catches. Davis finished the year with 585 yards receiving and 7 touchdown receptions.
Quarterback Kellen Mond along with offensive linemen Ryan McCollum and Carson Green are all on the fourth team. Last season Mond threw for 3107 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also ran for another 474 yards and 7 touchdowns.
The Aggies will open the 2019 season August 29 against Texas State at Kyle Field.
