COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M Aggies close the books on their spring exhibition schedule Wednesday when they host the Baylor Bears in 8 p.m. match at Ellis Field.
Admission to the match is free. Fans will also be able to park for free at Reed Arena in Lots 100F and 100G.
Texas A&M returns 16 letterwinners from the 2018 campaign, including eight of 11 starters (started at least 50% of A&M's matches). The returnees account for 40 of the Aggies' 49 goals from last season. Texas A&M welcomes back All-American Ally Watt along with fellow All-SEC performer Addie McCain and former SEC All-Freshman honorees Ásdís Halldórsdóttir, McCain, Grace Piper and Watt.
Fans will get a nearly full preview of the 2019 squad as 22 of the 25 players who will be on the fall roster are in spring camp. The only players not currently in camp are incoming freshman Kenna Caldwell and transfer Taylor Ziemer, along with rising junior Jimena Lopez who is with the Mexican National Team playing a match in the Netherlands.
Texas A&M wrapped up the 2018 season with a 17-5-1 mark. The Maroon & White earned a bid to their 24th consecutive NCAA Championship and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the 15th time in school annals.
The Aggies opened the spring slate with a 3-1 victory over the Lamar Cardinals in mid-February. They were edged by TCU, 2-1, in Fort Worth the beginning of March and last week dropped a 3-0 decision to the Houston Dash of the NWSL. The Aggies tied a pair of 60-minute matches last Sunday against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (0-0) and Stephen F. Austin (1-1).
