Former Texas A&M catcher Michael Barash is part of a new team. Earlier this summer Barash was hired as an assistant coach at Angelina College in Lufkin. After finishing his career at Texas A&M Barash did spend some time in professional baseball. He was a ninth round pick by the Angles in the 2016 Major League Baseball Draft.
Before Barash came to Aggieland he played at the junior college level at Palm Beach State College in Florida so he knows what to expect as he gets set for the next chapter in his baseball career. Barash said, "My junior college coach told me you get t-shirts and memories in junior college." Barash added, "That's what it's all about is making these experiences great for these kids and do whatever you can to get them out of here and into a four year school to turn them into better men and husbands and fathers and scope them into what they need to be for the rest of their lives because these are the most important years that they are going to be a part of. You need to set them up for success after baseball."
Barash will work with Angelina College head coach Jeff Livin. He has been the head coach at Angelina College for 22 years.
