Bombers Add More Arms to the Pitching Staff

Bryan-College Station, Texas (May 1, 2017)- The Brazos Valley Bombers continue to bulk up their pitching staff as they added Miguel Ausua, Broc Bosse and Joseph Sgambelluri to the roster.

Miguel Ausua is in his first season at Oral Roberts University after spending his first two seasons at Panola College. Ausua was first team all-conference both years at Panola College. Ausua has had a stellar season with the Golden Eagles. Ausua has started 11 games and leads the team in wins with eight and strikeouts with 56. Ausua has only two losses and is second on the team in ERA (2.45) and innings pitched (58.2). Ausua is a left-hander from Penuelas, Puerto Rico.

Broc Bosse is from Brenham, Texas and is currently a freshman at Texas State University. Bosse is 1-0 on the season with a save in 14 appearances. In 13 innings, Bosse has struck out eight and compiled a 2.77 ERA. Bosse first outing for the Bobcats was against Purdue when he pitched two scoreless innings and recorded a strikeout. The one win for Bosse came from a scoreless inning pitched against Rice and his first career save came against University of Louisiana-Monroe when he allowed just a run in two innings.

Joseph Sgambelluri is a redshirt freshman at Cisco Junior College. The Arlington, Texas native has pitched 40 innings out of the bullpen this season and has a 2-1 record. Sgambelluri has 51 strikeouts in 14 appearances. Sgambelluri’s best outing of the season was a start against Temple College when he pitched 6 innings and didn’t allow an earned run while striking out nine to pick up the first win of his career.
