Bombers Add Mountain West Flavor to the Roster

Bryan-College Station, Texas (April 17, 2017)- The Brazos Valley Bombers are excited to announce that they have signed three players from the Mountain West Conference.

Brothers Jared Mang and Connor Mang come to the Brazos Valley from the University of New Mexico while Chase Maddux plays baseball at the University of Nevada - Las Vegas.

Chase Maddux is in his second year with the Rebels. Maddux comes in relief for the Rebels and last year only allowed 10 hits in limited action. This year Maddux has limited opponents to only two hits all year. Chase attended Gorman High School and helped win a state championship in 2015 when the Gaels also finished second in the nation. Maddux is also the son of baseball Hall of Famer Greg Maddux.

Jared Mang is in his second year with the Lobos. Mang is currently batting .325 on the year with 29 runs, eight doubles, two home runs and 30 RBI. Mang has walked 12 times and is sporting a .400 on-base percentage. Mang had a four hit game and scored four runs in a 24-4 win over Fresno State on March 31 and had a career-best six RBI against UNLV on March 24. Mang has 54 putouts in the outfield on the season and has not committed an error. The Los Alamos, New Mexico native played in 59 games his freshman year and had a .291 batting average with three homers and 30 RBI.

Connor Mang is currently in his freshman season at New Mexico. In limited playing time, Mang has walked and scored two runs. He is a four-time, first-team All-District player at Los Alamos High School and was All-State for three years.
