Brazos Valley Bombers prepare for season opener Friday

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -- The Brazos Valley Bombers will kick off its 13th season on Friday as they hit the road to take on the Acadiana Canecutters & Baton Rogue Rougarou in its first three games.

Wednesday at Scott & White Hospital Jason Jennings, the President for the College Station region of Baylor Scott & White Health, opened up the team's preseason press conference as another major sponsor for the franchise.

The Bombers say they aren't superstitious and are hopeful their 13th campaign will see them return as TCL Champions after seeing Victoria unseat the 5 time champs last season.

"It was a little heart breaking at the time," said Bombers Manager Brian Nelson.

"You know that the bubble is always going to pop at some point and you never know who is going to be holding it when it does. And it was us. I will tell you this, what it has done for me and for our group, especially our returners is it has reignited that hunger to go out and get that championship again," concluded Nelson.

The Bombers will play their home opener next Tuesday night at 7:05 against a new addition to the T-C-L. The Baton Rouge Rougarou.
