BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -- Texas A&M's 2019 recruiting class is probably going to take a hit after the Cy Ranch High School pitching duo of J.J. Goss and Matthew Thompson saw their names listed on the draft board Monday night.
Goss was the 36th overall pick in the first round going to Tampa Bay and Thompson going 9 picks later in the 2nd round to the Chicago White Sox as the 45th overall selection.
Each player will have over a million reasons to turn pro and bypass their oral commitment to put on an Aggie baseball jersey.
In the first round on Monday night Braden Shewmake was the 21st selection by the Atlanta Braves. In the second round John Doxakis was by the Tampa Bay Rays.
In the 4th round on Tuesday A&M relief pitcher Kasey Kalich was selected with the 127th overall pick by the Atlanta Braves. Kalich was the Aggies closer this year logging 12 of the team's 16 saves. He struck out 51 this past season.
Sam Houston State pitcher Hayden Wesneski was selected in the sixth round by the New York Yankees. He led the Bearkats with 110 strikeouts on the year and also lead the pitching staff with an 8 and 4 record.
In the 10th round Bearkat catcher and Centerville High School product Jordan Cannon was selected by Baltimore. He led Sam Houston State with a .372 batting average and drove in 37 runs last season.
