Bryan ISD headed to THSBA State Meet after regional tournament title

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -- The Bryan ISD Bass Fishing Club won the Texas High School Bass Association Regional tournament on Lake Somerville over the Easter weekend. There were 168 two person teams that competed and three teams from Bryan ISD finished in the top 50 to not only win the meet, but also qualify for the State Meet May 11-12 on Cedar Creek Lake.

Bryan ISD's Kade Danford and Caleb Murski won the tournament with a total weight of 20.48 pounds. By winning they also received a pair of $2,500 scholarships.

Charlie Fisher and Hunter Britten came in 16th with a total weight of 12.67 lbs, while Clayton Wilbanks and Elias Chavarria finished 43rd with a combined weight of 6.34 lbs.

The three team weight total of 39.49 lbs helped Bryan ISD claim the Regional Team Championship to qualify for the THSBA State Meet next month.
