Burton blasts Snook to claim district title

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -- Burton took command of their showdown with Snook in the first quarter on the way to a 69-32 victory to earn the Panthers a third straight district championship.

Caleb Harmel and De'Monderick Winters hooked up on a 48-yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage the Panthers never looked back.

Harmel scored on three touchdowns runs and added three touchdown passes in the first half alone as Burton led 42-18 at the break. Snook scored on a Damon Allen long touchdown run and two KJ Macik to Matthew Jordan scoring strikes.

Burton (7-2, 4-0) wraps up the 14-2A Division II title with the win. They will face Chilton in the bi-district round of the playoffs.

Snook (8-2, 3-1) comes up shy of their first district championship in football and will take on Bremond in their playoff opener Thursday night at 7 p.m. at College Station High School.
