Classroom Champion- Ana Lima

News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest Classroom Champion, Ana Lima. The Centerville High School Senior has a 4.1 GPA, and is currently ranked third in her class.

“She's very humble.. She has a quiet humility about her but she's not afraid to stand up for herself when she needs to and I thinks she's a quiet leader. She is one who you might not notice at the beginning, but she stands out in her focus and her drive.” Lisa Noey, Teacher.

Ana plays Tennis for the Centerville Lady Tigers. Last season, she made it all the way to Regionals in Girls Doubles. Outside of sports, Ana is involved with the National Honor Society, FCA, UIL, Family Career and Community Leaders of America and the Future Chamber of Commerce. In her spare time, Ana enjoys reading, writing, spending time with her family and helping out at her church.

“I think she handles it well. I know she puts a lot of pressure on herself just because...I think she's ranked third in her class. She's of our best tennis players in the program. I think a lot of times with that pressure she puts upon herself. It allows her to go ahead and succeed and meet her goals and accomplish what she would like to accomplish.” Stephen Harrison, Coach.

“I believe that I work as hard as I do, with everything I do, because of my parents. They set a great example for me especially as a first generation college student and high school graduate. I think I have a level I have to withhold and I just want to make my parents proud and also, I want to be a leader, and not just to the people around me but I want to influence those people so they can be leader to everybody else.” says Lima.

After High School, Ana wants to attend Texas A&M University, and will major in Biology. She also, hopes to one day become a pediatrician and work at Texas Children's Hospital.

Congratulations to Ana Lima of Centerville High School. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
