Classroom Champion- Leo Toussaint

News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest Classroom Champion, Leo Toussaint. The Allen Academy Senior has a 4.6 GPA, and is currently ranked in the top of his class.

“Leo's happy! Every time he comes into the classroom he's pumped up, he's syked, he's ready to learn.
And that energy he brings with him allows the other students to just get ready to learn. He's very humorous, he's polite, he's kind and it really does change the energy in the classroom for all the students, including myself.” Brandon Baxter, Teacher.

Leo is a member of the football and golf teams at Allen Academy. In basketball, Leo has been named 1st Team All-District, 2nd Team All-State, and the 3-Point Champion for small private schools in Texas. Outside of sports, Leo is involved with the National Honor Society, Student Council, and the Allen Ambassadors and in his spare time, Leo likes playing video games and hanging out with friends.

“I think particularly last year, he led by example. He always worked hard...He gave other players and other teammates...What they should try to emulate. As this year, he's been more vocal, kind of taking the lead. Now he's one of the seniors, and he's been very vocal in practices and in huddles.” Jacob Navarro, Coach.

“I pride myself in having decent time management and trying to get my work done ahead of time. So I'm not crammed last minute before tests and projects and stuff like that. But it is tough like with after school practices, and morning practices, getting up early and staying late. Through time management, and getting my work done, and being focused and just getting the job done that needs to be done. So I can excel in both school and athletics is what really helps me.” says Toussaint.

After High School, Leo plans on attending college and wants to major in Biology.

Congratulations to Leo Toussaint of Allen Academy. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
