News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest Classroom Champion, Kristin Paholek. The Bryan High School Senior has a 5.2 GPA, and is currently ranked number one in her class.
“People with her talent level don't always wont to work quite as hard as everybody else or whatever. But she's not willing to do that. She wants to push herself; I can’t push her. She's the one that pushes herself and that's unique in this day and time. It's all intrinsic; she doesn't want to settle for anything less than the best that she can be and she gives her full effort everyday.” Mike McCarley, Teacher.
Kristin is a member of the Lady Viking Tennis team. She has been a Honorable Mention honoree for her play on the tennis court. Outside of sports, Kristin is involved with the National Honor Society, UIL Academic, and the Bethel Lutheran Youth Group and in her spare time, Kristin enjoys playing tennis, reading, and volunteering her time to her community.
“She's silent, but does lead by example. You never hear her you know hoot and holler from the standpoint of trying to get the kids to do anything but I can tell her this is the drill we're going to do and she knows what we're doing and goes right to it and knows that if she kind of leads that way the kids will jump in right behind her and they do.” Randy Stewart, Coach.
“I'm more of a quiet leader, just by leading by example and just doing what's right and hoping that everyone sees and follows. My sister has been a huge influence in my life because she introduced me to tennis and she also showed me how to be organized and driven to complete everything to the best of my ability.” says Paholek.
After High School, Kristin will attend Texas A&M University's Mays Business School. And hopes to one day start her own business or became an accountant.
Congratulations to Kristin Paholek of Bryan High School. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
