College Station, Consol and Rudder girls advance to quarterfinals of Aggieland Invitational

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -- A trio of Bryan/College Station girls basketball teams won two games on the first day of the 2018 Aggieland Invitational.

A&M Consolidated was a point better than Pearland Dawson in their opener 50-49, then picked up another close win, 42-38, over Cy Springs to advance to the quarterfinals against Pflugerville Hendrickson Friday at 12:30 p.m. at Tiger Gym.

College Station cruised past Huntsville 61-37 in the first round then blasted Katy Seven Lakes 58-56 in round two. The Lady Cougars will face Abilene Wylie Friday at 12:30 p.m. at A&M Consolidated's auxiliary gym.

Rudder took care of of Victoria East 68-60 then eliminated Clear Falls 48-42 to move on. The Rangers now get Oak Ridge or Trimble Tech in the quarterfinals Friday at 12:30 p.m. at Bryan High School (Gym 2).
