College Station rallies to beat Magnolia West 4-3

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) -- Chanden Scamardo delivered a bases loaded single in the bottom of the 7th inning as College Station rallied to beat District 19-5A Champion Magnolia West 4-3 Tuesday night at Cougar Field.

The Cougars struggled against Mustang pitcher Connor Phillips. The LSU signee striking out eight Cougars during six innings of work.

College Station will put together a pair of hits in the 5th to take a 2-1 lead. Kit Cawley with an RBI double to left center driving in Bryson Lucas to make it 1-1. Then Zach Williams singles in Cawley to give the Cougars its first lead of the game 2-1.

After the Mustangs tied the game in the 6th, Scamardo delivered the game winning hit handing Magnolia West its first district loss.

College Station (22-9, 9-4) will travel to Magnolia West (22-4, 12-1) Friday night to wrap up the regular season. First pitch is set 7 pm.
