College Station girls soccer blanks Rudder

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The College Station Lady Cougar soccer team defeated the Rudder Rangers 2-0 Tuesday night to improve to 2-0 in district and 9-3-1 on the season. The Cougs opened the scoring when Kayla Vasquez received a pass from Olivia Riechman and beat the Rudder goalie with a high shot to the back post. At the 14:46 mark of the first half, Reichman finished off a free kick just outside the 18 to put the Cougs up 2-0 going into the half. Keira Herron had the shutout in goal.

The Cougar JV improved to 2-0 in district and 3-0 on the season with a 8-0 win against the Rudder JV. Coug goals were scored by Sarah Del Rio (2), Ashlynn Turner (2), Tania Aquino, Kenedy Baker, Robin Loopstra, and Frida Ramirez. Ashlynn Turner (2) and Kaydence O'Leary assists. The Cougars will continue district play when they travel to Waller on Friday. The JV will play at 5:00 and the Varsity at 7:00
