BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Texas A&M senior guard Chris Collins was named to the SEC Men's Basketball Community Service Team. This marks the 21st year for the SEC Community Service Team for men's basketball, and is the first of such honors for Collins.

In the last year, Collins has participated in the Aggie Dream Team reading program at Brazos Christian Elementary School, making school visits and reading to classes to help promote literacy and encourage kids to read away from school settings. The Friendswood, Texas, native has also volunteered his time and helped donate Christmas gifts over the last few years for Still Creek Ranch, which rescues boys and a girls from crisis environments. He and his teammates shop for and wrap gifts for the children. Collins has given back on the court as well, volunteering at basketball camps over the summer, sponsored by Boys and Girls Club.

Collins and the Aggies will begin play in the SEC Tournament on Wednesday, March 13, in Nashville. A&M will take on Vanderbilt in the final game of the opening round.
