BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -- The Bryan Viking baseball team gave up three consecutive unearned runs against top ranked Cy Ranch and suffered a 3-2 loss to the Mustangs Monday night at the Bryan Athletic Complex.
Battling Texas A&M commit Matt Thompson, Bryan was able to score a pair of runs in the first inning on a throwing error by he Mustangs catcher allowing Michael Barber and Matthew Moreno to score for a 2-0 lead.
Thompson settled down after a rocky first inning to strike out 11 through six complete innings.
Cy Ranch will keep their winning streak alive with three consecutive unearned runs in the third and fourth innings. The Mustangs take its first lead of the game in the 4th inning on a throwing error allowing Ryan Peters to score to make it 3-2.
Prior to the game the Bryan Vikings honored President George H,W, Bush with their '41' night.
Bryan will travel to Cy Ranch on Thursday night for the rematch and looking for a little revenge. First pitch against the Mustangs will be at 7:30 p.m.
