BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -- Rudder High School baseball standout Hunter Dobbins will represent the Rangers one more time as he takes part in the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All Star Game on Saturday at Dell Diamond.
The Ranger third baseman and pitcher was nominated by his head coach Chase Sanford and will be the third Rudder Ranger to play in the coaches All Star game joining Blake Kopetsky and Jeremy Johnson.
Dobbins lead the team with a .537 batting average as well as with extra base hits.
When he wasn't playing 3rd he was pitching and lead the team with a .46 earn run average and recorded 104 strikeouts.
The three year varsity letter winner is looking forward to Saturday and getting to play with some of the best high school players in the state.
"It's a great honor to be selected by that committee," said Dobbins.
"You had to have a great season and all the guys playing in this game have obviously done that so far. And just to be out on the field with all those guys it's going to be pretty fun and a great experience," concluded the Rudder Ranger.
While Hunter knows he will play third base in the game, he hopes to get an inning or two on the mound for the South squad.
The 5A-6A Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All Star Game will take place Saturday at 1pm at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.
