Franklin to battle Grandview in state quarterfinals Friday at Waco ISD Stadium

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -- The Franklin Lions (10-1) will battle the Grandview Zebras (11-2) in the Class 3A Division I Region III Semifinals Friday at 7 at WISD Stadium in Waco.

Riding a 9 game winning streak the Lions are looking to get to the 4th round of the UIL State playoffs for the second time in three years.

The Zebras bring their own winning streak into Friday's game having won 7 in a row. Grandview is averaging 35 points per game during their current winning streak and the Lions know they will present a different kind of problem than they have faced this season.

"They spread the field a lot which we haven't seen very much, but listen to what the coaches tell us and just play our assignments like we always do we should be fine," says Franklin linebacker and running back Jared Pedraza.

"One they they do they have real wide splits in their offensive line. They throw the ball I'd say much more then they run the ball," added head football coach Mike Hedrick.

Friday's game against Grandview will kick off at 7 p.m. at Waco ISD Stadium.
