Hajdu earns Academic All-District recognition

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M senior midfielder Kate Hajdu was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 7 Team for NCAA Division I Women's Soccer, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday.

It marks the second time Hajdu has earned Academic All-District 7 recognition. The Dallas native earned Academic All-District 7 recognition as a sophomore in 2016.

Hajdu boasts a 3.96 GPA as a biomedical engineering major. In 2016, she earned the Aggies Soccer inaugural Lafield Academic Excellence Award.

This season, Hajdu has played in 16 matches in the Aggie midfield, including one start, as the Maroon & White have racked up a 15-4-1 record.

Hajdu has 62 Aggie caps for her career, including 27 starts. She has 12 career points on four goals and four assists.

In 2015, Hajdu played in all 26 games, including 19 starts, racking up 12 points on four goals and four assists. The last two years, she battled through injuries and was limited to eight matches with seven starts in 2016 and 12 matches in 2017.

District 7 for NCAA Division I includes all schools in Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming.

The 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-District ® Women's Soccer Teams have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The honorees advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America distinction.

To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at her current institution and be nominated by her sports information director. Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 20,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
