BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -- The Huntsville Hornets (12-1) announced Wednesday that their regional championship game against Fort Bend Marshall (13-0) has been moved up to Thursday because of the threat of inclement weather on Friday.
The Hornets have won 10 straight games after last Saturday's 35-34 win over Marshall. The Fort Bend Marshall Buffalos bring an unbeaten record into the game with one of their victims being A&M Consolidated who they beat in the area round of the playoffs 49-31. They are coming off a 53-14 win last week over Port Neches Groves.
Kickoff on Thursday is set for 8pm at The Berry Center in Cypress.
Now traditionally Thursday night high school football games kickoff at 7, but because the Hornets played Saturday night at 8 the UIL requires that there is a full five days between games so the soonest they could kick things off on Thursday is 8 and not a minute sooner.
