IOLA, Texas (KBTX) -- Iola scored twice in the second inning and it proved to be enough to beat 8th ranked Burton 2-1 Tuesday night.

The two teams are now tied atop the district standings with 10-1 records.

Bryn Roberts was outstanding on the mound for Iola, throwing a complete game five hitter and striking out five. Burton did not score until a Caleb Fuchs sac fly brought home Jackson Kalkhake in the top of the 7th.

Iola scored on a Blake Driver single that scored Zach Hollingsworth and a chopper to short that Roberts beat out to first to get Driver home.

The Bulldogs visit Round Top-Carmine to wrap up the regular season Friday.

Burton will host Richards.
