Magnolia West beats Georgetown in series opener

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Magnolia West baseball team beat Georgetown 2-1 Thursday night in game one of the Class 5A Region 3 championship series at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park. Mason Swidersky's RBI single in the fourth inning gave the Mustangs the lead for good. Connor Phillips threw a complete game two hitter for Magnolia West.

The Mustangs will go for the series win in game two Friday night at 7:00 p.m. back at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park. If Georgetown wins the deciding game of the series would be played Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
