TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY (KBTX) - Texas A&M University announced Wednesday morning that the 2019 Maroon & White Game has been moved to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 12 at Kyle Field due to inclement weather expected Saturday.

“We understand that moving an event of this magnitude affects countless individuals and has many logistical challenges; however, getting the game played is important to our fans and our football program,” Texas A&M Director of Athletics Scott Woodward said. “With Saturday’s weather forecast, we believe it is in the best interest of our fans’ experience and the safety of our student athletes to move the game to Friday.”

The Maroon & White Spring Game will now be a free event and refunds will be issued to fans who purchased tickets to the game. Texas A&M University advised refunds may take up to two weeks to process. Fans who purchased access to premium areas or premium parking for the event will receive additional information from the 12th Man Foundation.

The Pepsi Fan Zone opens at 4 p.m. on Friday. Kyle Field gates will open to fans at 6:30 p.m. Following the game, the field will open to fans for thirty minutes once the team is released from their huddle.

Current forecasts from KBTX's Pinpoint Weather Team call for widely scattered rain and storms through early Saturday afternoon across the Brazos Valley.

The Maroon & White Game anchors Texas A&M’s Family Weekend and offers the first chance for fans to see the 2019 Aggies on Kyle Field.

Family Weekend also includes Aggie baseball and softball games, as well as the Texas A&M Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M Track and Field. First pitch at the Texas A&M baseball game against Auburn University is currently scheduled at 4 p.m. Saturday, while softball will host Florida at 6 p.m. at Davis Diamond.

The Association of Former Students has also moved Saturday's Ring Day ceremonies to the Texas A&M Student Recreation Center.

Texas A&M previously announced the game would be televised nationally on the SEC Network.
