No. 17 Aggie Women Host Georgia On Legacy Day Sunday

No. 17 Texas A&M hosts Georgia in a women’s basketball game on Sunday, January 14, as Reed Arena hosts Legacy Day, with over 50 former players, managers and coaches returning to Aggieland, and Sydney Colson Bobblehead Day, which celebrates the Texas A&M All-American’s career from 2007-11.

The game is broadcast on SEC Network, with Eric Frede and Carol Ross on the call. The Aggies are coming off a 79-76 overtime win against No. 6 Tennessee, marking the Aggies’ first win in five tries against a ranked opponent this season and the first win for Texas A&M over a Top 10 team since 2014-15. The Aggies have won five straight home games, and three straight games overall, entering this game.

Texas A&M features one of the nation’s top scoring trios, as Chennedy Carter, Khaalia Hillsman and Danni Williams combine for 52.0 points per game, which ranks second among Power 5 trios. All three scored 20+ points in the win over Tennessee.

Georgia is coming off of three straight SEC wins, and is 15-2 on the season, with their only losses coming to No. 2 Texas and No. 3 Mississippi State. Both Caliya Robinson and Mackenzie Engram are averaging 12+ points per game for the Lady Bulldogs.

The first 1,000 fans receive bobbleheads of Texas A&M All-American Sydney Colson, who helped the Aggies to the 2011 NCAA Championship. At halftime, there is an on-court recognition of former players, coaches and managers.

After this game the Aggies travel to Alabama on January 18, before returning home on Monday, January 22 to host LSU.
