ORLANDO, Florida -- Texas A&M senior Chandler Phillips was chosen to represent the United States at the 2019 Arnold Palmer Cup on Wednesday as both the International and United States teams were announced at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Club & Lodge. The annual Ryder Cup-style competition will be played June 7-9 at The Alotian Club.

Phillips is the first American to be selected to the Palmer Cup three times, representing the United States each of the last two years. He got out to a record-setting start to his final season with the Aggies after an impressive junior outing that saw him earn All-America First Team honors. The Huntsville, Texas native won the 2019 Arizona Intercollegiate, A&M's first event of the season. He is the first Aggie to win the event, shooting a school record 19-under through two days of play. He previously held two of the top three 54-hole program records, setting a mark each of the last two seasons. A three-time All-SEC honoree, Phillips' season-opening win upped his program-best career tournament wins total to seven. For the second time in his career, Phillips was named to the Hogan Award Watch List earlier this season.
