The Houston Chronicle is reporting Billy Kennedy will not be back next season as the men's head basketball coach at Texas A&M.
Kennedy has a 150-115 record in eight seasons with the Aggies, but Texas A&M is just 13-17 this season and headed to the SEC Tournament as the No. 11 seed.
Kennedy met with reporters Tuesday morning and seemed confident he would return in 2019-2020 saying, "I've got a good contract. I'm thankful for being here and I think we've done a lot of good things in this program when you look at winning a championship. Our guys academically are doing well and our program is in good shape. We have a good class coming in. I think we have some solid guys returning that have proven they can win in this league so I feel very confident about where we're at as a program."
Texas A&M will face Vanderbilt Wednesday night at around 8:30 p.m. in the SEC Tournament in Nashville.
