COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The Aggie men's basketball team returns to action tonight against Northwestern State.
Billy Kennedy's team is still getting used to playing together this season.
One of the new addition's is Wendell Mitchell, a-k-a Chuck, who played high school ball in Rockdale, played a year at Baylor and a year at Trinity Valley Community College before coming to Aggieland.
He is thankful for the chance to be back at the division one level after a year in junior college.
"It feels great. You don't want to take basketball, you want to be grateful for every day you play the game. I feel like JUCO it's more, it's a grind trying to get out of it. Everything's so limited. But here you're put on a platform where you're surrounded by all these resources to better yourself. I'm just grateful to be back at this level."
His head coach Billy Kennedy knows how Mitchell feels. "I know he's excited to back at this level because he went from this level to junior college and had that experience. Junior college will get you ready real quick and make you appreciate a lot of things. I played junior college basketball, so I know. I'm glad to hear you say Chuck is very appreciative."
The Aggies face Northwester State at 7 p.m.
