BRYAN - Expectations are high again in Baton Rouge this year for the LSU football team. The Tigers were picked second in the SEC west division in the media's preseason poll. The Tigers have nine offensive starters back from last year's team that went 10-3 and beat Central Florida in the Fiesta Bowl. The offense will be led by quarterback Joe Burrow. He threw for 2894 yards and 16 touchdowns last season. Those number could grow in 2019 as LSU moves to a spread offense and works with new passing game coordinator Joe Brady. He spent the last two seasons with the New Orleans Saints.

The offense may be getting a lot of attention but expect the Tiger defense to once again be solid. LSU is known as DBU and this year's defensive back group is one that Tiger head coach Ed Orgeron thinks is the best group of defensive backs he has ever coached.
LSU will open the 2019 season August 31 at home against Georgia Southern. The Tigers will close out the regular season against Texas A&M on November 30 at Tigers Stadium in Baton Rouge.
