Texas A&M SS Braden Shewmake selected 21st overall by the Atlanta Braves

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -- Texas A&M baseball fans didn't have to wait long to hear Braden Shewmake's named called during the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft.

The Aggie shortstop was selected 21st overall by the Atlanta Braves.

The All-American has acquired a long list of accolades over the past 3 years at Texas A&M, including National Freshman of the Year as well as SEC Freshman of the Year and a two-time All-SEC performer.

Shewmake owns a .321 career batting average with 21 home runs while only missing 1 game as an Aggie and starting the other 178 games.
