BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Five members of the Texas A&M Equestrian team earned eight Southeastern Conference postseason awards as voted on by the league’s head coaches, the conference office announced Friday.

Rebekah Chenelle was named the league’s Co-Fences Rider of the Year with Auburn’s Caitlin Boyle, and was joined on the All-SEC Fences Team with teammate Haley Redifer. Chenelle was also voted to the All-SEC Flat Team.

Alex Albright and Sarah Orsak garnered All-SEC Horsemanship distinctions as Kalee McCann was named to the All-SEC Reining Team and Redifer to the SEC’s All-Freshmen Fences Team.

Albright notched 10 victories and helped lead the Horsemanship squad to a No. 2-seed at the upcoming NCEA Championships. The sophomore was named Most Outstanding Player (MOP) three times and recorded four wins against SEC competitors.

Chenelle led the Aggies with 21 victories in the Hunter Seat including 11 in Fences and 10 in Flat. The senior registered two MOP honors in both events and was named to the SEC All-Championship Team in Fences. Chenelle posted a 6-2 ledger against SEC opponents in Fences and tallied four league wins in Flat.

McCann compiled an 8-4-1 record and earned MOP honors at the SEC Championship final against No. 1 Auburn. The senior racked up four wins against SEC opponents and scored a season-high 73.5 at Georgia in November.

The team leader in Horsemanship victories with 11, Orsak began the season with a 9-0-1 record in the first 10 meets. The senior posted a season high score of 78 against Georgia in November and was named MOP for her performance.

Redifer had a stellar freshman campaign as she went 8-4 in Fences. Redifer was named MOP three times and scored a season-high 91 against Auburn on March 1.

Texas A&M returns to action April 17-20 at the NCEA Championships at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas.
