Texas A&M to host Corpus Christi & Abilene Christian in Tuesday - Wednesday games

MIDWEEK PREVIEW: Texas A&M-Corpus Christi & Abilene Christian

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 22 Texas A&M Aggies return to Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park for a five-game home stretch beginning with midweek action against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday (4:02 p.m.) and Abilene Christian on Wednesday (6:32 p.m.).

The Maroon & White are fresh off their 3-0 performance in claiming the tournament title at the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic. Two of Texas A&M’s victories at Minute Maid Park came against top 25 opposition, including No. 18 Baylor (5-2) and No. 17 TCU (1-0).

Despite two losses this earlier season, the Aggies have been dominant in non-conference home games the since 2015, posting an 84-6 mark, including 19-1 in 2018.

The Aggies continue their string of sending southpaw starters to the mound. Lefties have started all 13 games for the Maroon & White in 2019. Dustin Saenz is slated to start Tuesday with Chris Weber getting the call on Wednesday.

Texas A&M starting pitchers have registered a 7-1 record with a 1.18 ERA, .164 opponent batting average, 6.00 K-to-BB ratio and 0.77 WHIP through 13 starts.

The Aggies are near the top of the charts on the nation’s strikeout lists. Texas A&M ranks third in K-to-BB ratio (5.00) and eighth in Strikeouts Per Nine Innings (11.9).
