Texas A&M’s Carter named Preseason All-SEC by Head Coaches

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Texas A&M’s Chennedy Carter was selected to the 2019 All-SEC Women's Basketball Preseason team in a vote of the league’s head coaches.

Carter was the unanimous National Freshman of the Year in 2017-18, averaging 22.7 points per game, the most among the nation's freshmen. She earned First Team All-SEC honors, in addition to SEC Freshman of the Year and was named to the All-SEC Tournament Team. Carter averaged 31.3 points in the NCAA Tournament, the fourth-most in the history of the competition.

As a team, the Aggies were picked to finish sixth in the SEC. Last season, Texas A&M tied for fourth in the SEC standings with an 11-5 record, then advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament. The Aggies finished 26-10 overall and made the program's seventh appearance in the Sweet 16 in 2017-18.
