Texas A&M’s Casas Breaks Third School Record at 2019 US Nationals

STANFORD, California -- Texas A&M rising sophomore Shaine Casas, broke his third school record of the meet in the 100m butterfly on Friday, at the Phillips 66 National Championships at the Stanford Avery Aquatic Center. Earlier in the meet, he set a new school record in the 100m freestyle and the 200m backstroke.

Casas had a time of 52.78 in the men's 100m butterfly prelims and achieved his best time of 52.15 in the C Final.

In the men's 400m IM, Benjamin Walker touched the wall in 4:25.56. Camryn Toney swam in the 400m IM and advanced to the C Final with her time of 4:49.30. In the C Final, she finished with a time of 4:49.40

Taylor Pike (59.70), Emma Stephenson (1:00.92) and Emma Carlton (1:02.34) competed in the 100m butterfly. Pike had her best time of 59.37 in the C Final.

Rounding out action on the day was the women's 4x200 freestyle relay. Karling Hemstreet became an Olympic Trial Qualifier with her split of 2:01.17, followed by Joy Field (2:04.94), Emma Carlton (2:04.17), and Haley Yelle (2:04.31).

The Aggies have two more days of competition on Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4.
