Texas A&M’s Pickrem named SEC Co-Swimmer of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-- After a dominating performance at the Art Adamson Invitational, Texas A&M junior Sydney Pickrem was named the Co-SEC Women's Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced Tuesday.

The team captain won five individual races, notching three NCAA A-cuts and two B-cuts and was a part of four winning relays.

Pickrem posted the second-best times nationally in the 200 IM (1:53.88), 200 breaststroke (2:06.13) and 400 IM (4:01.73) to win those events.

She touched the wall first in the 100 breaststroke (59.30, sixth nationally) and 200 back (1:53.26, 12th nationally) and was a member of the winning 200 free relay, 400 free relay, 800 free relay and 400 medley relay.

The Aggies return to the pool Saturday, December 1 hosting a double-dual meet against TCU and Rice at 10 a.m. at the Texas A&M Rec Center Natatorium.
