WEST PALM BEACH, Florida – Texas A&M Football’s Seth Small has been named to the 2019 Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award Watch List, announced Wednesday by The Palm Beach County Sports Commission.
Small, a sophomore from Katy, Texas, connected on 20-of-28 field goals, including a pair of 52-yard scores, and 40-of-40 on PAT tries, to finish fourth in points per game in the SEC Southeastern Conference last year. Small’s 20 field goals marked the most by A&M freshman in program history as he garnered SEC All-Freshman honors a season ago.
In 1992, The Palm Beach County Sports Commission established the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker award. This award, presented for a number of years by the Orange Bowl Committee, is given annually to the nation’s top collegiate place-kicker as determined by a voting panel of Division 1 head coaches, sports writers and sportscasters from across the county, conference representatives, professional kickers and previous winners.
Texas A&M opens 2019 against Texas State on August 29 at Kyle Field, a Thursday night contest set to be broadcast on SEC Network.
