COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M football's Braden Mann, Justin Madubuike and Jashaun Corbin earned spots on the Preseason All-SEC Team, as voted on by the media attending the 2019 SEC Media Days on Friday.
Mann earned his way onto the first team at punter, while Madubuike was named to the second team at defensive line and Corbin was voted to the third team at return specialist.
Mann, from Cypress, Texas, rewrote the record books for the Aggies last season along with shattering the NCAA record for punting en route to the earning the Ray Guy Award. The senior punter earned consensus All-America honors for his efforts in 2018 as the only punter to post a punting average over 50 yards per punt (51.0).
Madubuike, a junior defensive lineman from McKinney, Texas, has appeared in every game in each of the last two seasons. Madubuike is the leading returning tackler for the Aggies as he recorded 10.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks last year.
Corbin, a sophomore running back from Rockledge, Florida, posted 853 all-purpose yards last season to lead all SEC freshman with an impressive 10 yards per play. The phenom chipped in 422 kick return yards to lead the SEC with a 30.1 kick return average. For his efforts a season ago, Corbin earned All-Freshman team honors from the league’s coaches as a running back, all-purpose player and return specialist.
Texas A&M opens 2019 against Texas State on August 29 at Kyle Field, a Thursday night contest set to be broadcast on SEC Network.
