Yoemen fall in overtime to East Chambers

SHENANDOAH, Texas -- The Cameron Yoemen lost to East Chambers 35-34 in overtime Friday night in a Class 3A Division I regional semifinal game at Woodforest Bank Stadium.

The Yoemen trailed 28-14 at halftime but got second half touchdown runs from Nico Vargas and Anthony Layne to tie the game at 28 and force overtime.

Cameron got the ball to start overtime. Braden Brashear hit Kobe Young with a 12 yard touchdown pass but the extra point was no good. East Chamber running back Ernest Ceasar scored on a four yard touchdown run to tie the game at 34.Jose Chavez made the extra point to give the Buccaneers the win.

Cameron ends the season with an 11-2 record. East Chambers improves to 12-1 and advances to the state quarterfinals to face Grandview.
