Protesters, Supporters Clash in Houston Home Invasion Shooting

HOUSTON (AP) - Protesters squared off on the Pasadena street where a homeowner fatally shot two men he believed had broken into his neighbor's house.

Yard signs declaring support for Joe Horn lined nearby streets yesterday near where Miguel Antonio DeJesus and Diego Ortiz were killed November 14.

Horn's supporters parked motorcycles along the block and jeered protesters who called for Horn to be prosecuted.

Police officers in riot gear monitored the activities, but no arrests were made.

Horn's attorney says his client shot the men only when they came into his yard and threatened him.

That description is partly at odds with Horn's call to 911 in which Horn, 61, threatens to kill the men despite the dispatcher's urging that Horn stay inside his house.

The case is expected to be presented to a grand jury.
