BRYAN - A Bryan family has a new roof over their heads after a lot of hard work.

The Tovar Family received a new Habitat for Humanity home on West 28th Street in Bryan Saturday morning.

Seven members of the family are moving into a five bedroom home the organization started working on this summer.

Manuel, Antonia and the family put in more than 900 hours of sweat equity working on the home.

They were also grateful for the help of volunteers.

"We are very excited to have our new home. We've been wanting one for such a long time and we're just all excited to finally be in our new home," said Mayra Tovar.

"The sponsors, it's a combination of the City of Bryan and a Professor at A&M Jose Bermudez that did the race across America and invited people to make donations to sponsor his race to raise money for Habitat," said Andy York, Interim Executive Director for Bryan / College Station Habitat For Humanity.

This was the 259th home built in the community.

The family had been living in a small and crowded mobile home before getting the keys to their house Saturday.
