Madison County Residents Speak Out on High-Speed Rail Project

MADISON COUNTY - Madison County residents who are against the idea and construction of a high-speed rail line came together in Madisonville tonight.

The group known as Texans Against High-Speed Rail, say they are hoping to unify in order to put a stop to the construction of the high-speed rail from being built in their back yards.

Organizers says their biggest concerns include protecting property owners and any waste of tax payer dollars that would be used in building the high-speed rail line that would transport travelers from Houston to Dallas with stops in between.

Members of the grass roots organization say they plan to talk to legislators in hopes of getting their support to stop the rail line from being built.
