Man Says He Was Beaten At College Station Party After Speaking Russian

COLLEGE STATION - A man says he was attacked at a weekend party in College Station and he believes it's because of the language he was speaking.

College Station police say the victim met a couple of people near Northgate around 2 a.m. Sunday and they invited him to a home for a party.

Police did not release the exact address of the home.

The victim told police he started speaking Russian at the party and that's when someone started beating him and they continued to beat him for at least an hour before putting a gun to his head.

The victim believes that someone at the party may have "thought that he was a Russian spy" and he believes that might have been the reason he was assaulted.

The victim said that the suspects then placed a bag on his head and he was taken to a corn field and dropped off.

The victim has numerous injuries but did not want to seek medical attention.

This case has been turned over to the criminal investigation division.
