Police Officers Memorial Egged In Brenham

BRENHAM - Law enforcement in Washington County are looking for vandals who threw eggs at a police officers memorial.

It happened sometime Sunday, according to Brenham and Washington County Crime Stoppers Chairman John Deans.

"That might seem like a small thing, but in today's hostile environment towards law enforcement with them being literally executed we want to nip this in the bud," said Deans.

At last check, investigators did not have any evidence linking the crime to any specific group of people or person.

"We're fearing it's someone that's taken up with all the bad rhetoric and as far as I'm concerned terrorist talk from people like Farrakhan and the Black Panthers," said Deans.

Since the incident, the mess has been cleaned up and someone has placed a fresh set of roses and a wreath at the memorial.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible.
