Bryan Police reports crews have recovered a body that they believe is Jose Luis Lara. The recovery was made around 6:00 p.m. Sunday. An autopsy will be conducted to confirm the identity and a cause of death.

Search and rescue crews spent Saturday night at Lake Bryan, trying to find a man who went missing after swimming with his family.

Sunday, Bryan Police identified the missing man as 44-year-old Jose Luis Lara of Bryan. Searchers on scene Saturday night said he had been with his family at the lake, but stayed out in the waters longer than the other family members and never returned.

Bryan Police says the case is being treated as a drowning.

The College Station Fire Department's dive team assisted Bryan's fire department Saturday night, but did not find the person as of the end of the day. The team arrived at the lake around 7:00 p.m., but because of safety concerns, search efforts ended around midnight.

Game wardens and the Bryan Fire Department are still working the scene. College Station Fire had not been contacted Sunday to assist as of the early afternoon.

Bryan PD says the lake itself is open except for the boat ramps and search area.
